The Dodge Hornet lineup comes with two engine options, and, like most Dodge models, the engine you get depends on the trim level you get. For example, the GT and GT Plus trims come standard with a two-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that pumps out 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a robust nine-speed automatic transmission that delivers torque to all four wheels with an advanced all-wheel drive system. Dodge's AWD system uses dynamic torque vectoring to provide optimal traction in corners. It allows the AWD system to intelligently distribute torque front to back and side to side so that more torque is delivered to the outside wheels when cornering to maintain a firm grip. The second powertrain powers the R/T and R/T Plus models. This is Dodge's first-ever electric vehicle with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain. Lifting the hood, you'll find a 1.3-liter turbocharged I-4 engine that powers the front wheels. The rear wheels, however, are driven by a 90-kilowatt electric motor. Combined, this setup delivers 288 horsepower and 388 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful compact utility vehicle in today's market! The Hornet R/T's 15.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack is recharged by an external power supply with an EV charging cable. The R/T also uses all-wheel drive with active torque vectoring, which receives the PHEV system's power from a six-speed automatic transmission. To enhance the driving experience, the Hornet R/T features steering-wheel paddle shifters. 

The Dodge Hornet does an excellent job of keeping with Dodge's muscle car tradition while simultaneously propelling the brand into the utility vehicle market. Dodge muscle cars are notorious for their aggressive looks. The Hornet continues this aggression with slim headlights with LED lamps, LED daytime running lights, and a forward-leaning stance. Meanwhile, the Hornet borrows the mailslot grille opening from the Charger SRT Hellcat models. At the top of the center stack that is angled slightly to face the driver, you'll find a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with advanced features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, five user profiles, a customizable home screen, and more. Below are the climate control buttons, an intuitively-placed ignition button, an electronic parking brake switch, a drive mode selector, and a leather-wrapped gear knob. Behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel, you'll find a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster that can be customized with nearly two dozen menu options. Other standard interior features include six speakers, dual-zone climate control, cloth/leatherette seating, deep-tinted rear windows, and more. 

The Dodge Hornet is equal parts powerful, comfortable, and safe. In the unfortunate event of a collision, you and your passengers are protected by seatbelt pre-tensioners, front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, first and second-row side curtain airbags, and side impact beams. Standard driver-assist technologies include rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, advanced active brake assist, blindspot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, active lane management, distance pacing cruise control with stop-and-go, and electronic stability control with rollover mitigation. Meanwhile, optional technologies and those standard on higher trim levels include but are not limited to traffic sign recognition, drowsy driver detection, a surround-view camera system, and front parking sensors.
